As preparations are ongoing for the 2019 general elections, Grassroots Democratic Party of Nigeria (GDPN), vice presidential candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Modibbo, has dumped the party with its presidential candidate for President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News understands that Modibbo declared his support for Buhari and the ruling party in Abuja on Tuesday, February 12.

Moddibo said he has chosen to support Buhari because of the president’s performance since taking over the mantle of leadership in 2015, adding that Buhari will launch the nation into more developments.

He said: “Buhari’s performance within three years in office shows that re-electing him will bring more positive impacts on Nigerians, especially in the area of agricultural development and improved economy.

“I have decided to join him because of what he is doing, and there is a need to support him do more.”
