JAMB, WAEC Announce ₦4,000 Fee For Result Verification

Candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics and other tertiary institutions will pay ₦4,000 once for the verification of their West African Senior School Certificate Examination O’Level results.

Naija News reports that the two examination bodies gave the announcement in a joint statement released on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Under the arrangement, candidates whose admission processes are handled through JAMB will complete their WAEC result verification through the JAMB platform.

Once the verification is completed, the result will be made available to the tertiary institution where the candidate is seeking admission.

Candidates will make another payment to their chosen institutions for the same verification exercise.

The ₦4,000 charge therefore covers the verification process once, rather than being a separate fee for every institution to which a candidate applies.

JAMB and WAEC also directed tertiary institutions to rely on the verified results sent to them through JAMB when carrying out admission screening, processing applications and other related administrative activities.

According to the statement, “Tertiary institutions are to utilise the verified results shared by JAMB for screening, processing candidate admission and other administrative purposes. Candidates shall not be required to pay for another verification.”

The new system was recently introduced by JAMB to allow candidates to upload and verify their O’Level results from home or any other location with internet access.
