Insecurity: Nigerians Aren’t Doormats You Just Prey On – Yvonne Jegede Blasts Tinubu

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has criticized the Federal Government over the growing insecurity in Nigeria, accusing the administration of failing to show enough concern for the safety and welfare of citizens.

Naija News reports that the actress expressed her views in a post on Instagram, where she reacted to the continued cases of killings, kidnappings, and other violent crimes reported across different parts of the country.

According to Jegede, insecurity is not only about the crimes being committed but also about how authorities respond to the suffering of victims and their families.

She argued that many Nigerians feel abandoned because they believe there is little hope of getting help or justice when they become victims of criminal acts.

Addressing President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu in her post, the actress stated that Nigerians should not be treated as people whose lives and safety do not matter.

She maintained that the major concern is the feeling among citizens that when they are attacked or go missing, there is often no serious effort to find them or bring those responsible to justice.

Jegede also noted that the violent incidents taking place across the country have affected people from different backgrounds.

She said the victims have not been targeted based on tribe, religion, or social status, adding that the insecurity crisis has continued to impact Nigerians regardless of their differences.

She wrote: “Nigeria government lacks a sense of humanity. @Asiwajubat @officialoluremitinubu Nigerians are not doormats nor people you just prey on. Crimes happen everywhere in the world, it is the fact that Nigerians know that no one will ever come looking for them is the issue. These atrocities have not been tribal, religious nor class-based.”
