‘Kindly Delete My Record’ – Oyo Deputy Speaker Tells PDP, Resigns From Party

The Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the lingering internal crisis within the opposition party.

Fadeyi, who represents Ona Ara State Constituency in the Assembly, also directed the leadership of the party to completely remove his details and information from its register and official database.

The resignation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in Ward 8, Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The letter was made available to journalists on Friday.

In the resignation letter, the lawmaker specifically requested that the party delete all records relating to him from its register and website.

According to him, the decision became necessary to enable him to pursue his political ambition on another platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fadeyi stated, “I wish to write to inform you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to the lingering and unresolved internal crisis rocking the party.”

He added, “Kindly delete my record and information from the party register and website completely. This is to allow me to complete and advance my political interest on another platform.”

Despite his resignation, the Deputy Speaker expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities he enjoyed during his time as a member.

“I sincerely appreciate and am grateful for everything I have been able to achieve with the party,” he said.

Fadeyi concluded the letter by extending his regards to the leadership of the party.

“Accept the assurances of my highest regards,” the statement added.
