Peter Obi Joins Gov. Oborevwori, Ifeanyi Okowa, James Ibori, Other Top Politicians For Nwaoboshi’s Burial

The Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, joined the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governor, James Ibori, Ifeanyi Okowa, serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, and other dignitaries to attend the burial of late Senator, Peter Onyeluka Nwaoboshi.

Naija News recalls that the former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District died in December 2025.

Peter Obi, in a post via his verified 𝕏 handle on Saturday, shared photos of the funeral and prayed that God would grant the family and all who mourn him the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.

He wrote, “Yesterday, Friday, 27 February, I joined other notable Nigerians, including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and his Deputy, Sir John Onyeme, as well as former Governors James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa. Serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, and other dignitaries, to attend the funeral Mass of the late distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ibusa. Delta State.

“We paid our last respects to the distinguished Senator, who served as a senator representing Delta North.

“May God Almighty who called him home grant him eternal rest in His kingdom and grant his family and all who mourn him the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.”
