Nigerian reality TV star Pere Egbi has advised young single women in the country against living alone.
Naija News reports that the former Big Brother Naija housemate, in a tweet, said that women should always have someone staying with them, whether it is a friend or a family member.
He added that living alone as a woman is not a safe or an ideal situation.
He wrote: “Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single, don’t live alone by yourself. Have someone stay with you always. A friend, family member/s. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman.”
The BBNaija star’s advice comes amid widespread reactions to the tragic death of rising Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene, who died after being bitten by a snake in her Abuja home.
Nwangene, a former contestant on The Voice Nigeria, was 26 years old and had been preparing for her first solo concert before the incident.
The snake bite occurred while she slept in her residence, and efforts to save her life were complicated by difficulties accessing anti‑venom at medical facilities.
The incident ignited public concern about emergency healthcare services in Nigeria, with many Nigerians questioning why life‑saving treatments were not readily available.
