The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the off-cycle governorship election held in Kogi last weekend, Dino Melaye, has told his supporters to remain resolute, saying that it is not the end of the battle.

Naija News recalls that Dino Melaye emerged as a distant third at the governorship polls that saw the ruling All Progressives Congress candidate, Usaman Ododo, emerge as the Kogi State governor-elect.

Ododo won with 446,237 votes, defeating his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, who garnered 259,052, while Dino Melaye pulled 46,362 votes.

Melaye, who rejected the election result, alleged that irregularities marred the November 11 governorship election.

However, in a message to his supporters posted on his official Instagram handle on Friday, Melaye said he had resumed his everyday life, urging his supporters not to be disturbed.

“Just to tell you that I have resumed in my office and life is continuous, simple. I always laugh away my sorrow, I always dance away my worries, and I am a happy soul and will continue to be happy. Just to encourage all my supporters and lovers all over the country and in Kogi State that please don’t be disenchanted, disillusioned, don’t be perturbed, don’t be disturbed, just carry on because, at the end of the day, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. “Be emboldened and be strong, be determined and be resolute that we will soon overcome. It is not the end of the battle, but we are not going to get worried,” Melaye said.
