Nigerian Players That Scored In Europe Ahead Of November Break

Some Nigerian players were outstanding during the weekend as some of them scored to help their European clubs win big ahead of the November international break.

At Nottingham Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi returned from injury to score for his team but the goal was not enough as Forest suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of West Ham United.

Nigerian star, Samuel Omorodion, scored for his Spanish La Liga side, Alaves but that wasn’t enough as his team suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of FC Barcelona.

It was a day filled with mixed feelings for Moses Simon in France as he scored for his Ligue 1 club, Nantes, but the team still ended up losing 2-1 to Matz.

In Germany, Super Eagles invitee, Nathan Tella, scored his first German Bundesliga goal days after he got his first invite to play for the Nigeria national team. The 24-year-old English-born Nigerian striker scored a goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-0 win. His countryman, Victor Boniface failed to score.

In the Netherlands, Chuba Akpom, returned to the scoresheet again as he scored in Ajax’s 2-2 Draw away at Almere City.

In Scotland, Cyriel Dessers returned to the scoresheet as he scored his fourth League goal in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Livingston.

On Saturday, Asisat Oshoala scored twice against Villareal to help FC Barcelona win 6-0 as the Spanish women’s giants continue to push for this season’s league title.

In Portugal, Zaidu Sanusi, helped FC Porto to come from a goal down to win Vitoria Guimaraes 2-1. His goal on Saturday was his first of the season.
