Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has returned to training after missing Super Eagles friendly games against Saudi Arabia on Friday and against Mozambique on Monday.

Taiwo Awoniyi didn’t make the Super Eagles final squad for the friendly games as he made efforts to recover before his Premier League club, Nottingham Forest play Luton Town on Saturday, October 21.

Before the October international break, the 26-year-old Nigerian striker was unable to play against Crystal Palace on October 7, due to his fitness issues, and he was ruled out for a month.

Fortunately, it seems he will return to the pitch sooner than expected as he was spotted training at Forest training center earlier today, October 17.

Taiwo Awoniyi is crucial for Steve Cooper’s team’s game plan. The first three games of the 2023–2024 season saw Awoniyi on the verge of breaking the Premier League record for consecutive goals scored.

However, fitness issues made it impossible for him to continue with the prolific form. So, Nottingham Forest will be hoping that he is back fully since he has started non-contact training four days before their next league game.

Awoniyi’s game is all-action, but ever since he joined Forest, he has experienced a series of injury setbacks.

Unfortunately, he is so important for Nottingham Forest that the side struggle whenever he is not available for them.

Even though the club added Chris Wood and Divock Origi as backup forwards for Awoniyi, no striker at the club is currently as prolific as the Nigerian striker.
