Imo State: APC’s Uzodinma Wins 20 Out Of 27 LGAs As INEC Takes Break From Collation

Govt Extends Teachers’ Retirement Age To 65

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the off-cycle governorship election in Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has so far won 20 out of 27 Local Government Areas in the state.

The Saturday, November 11 election results announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) show that Uzodinma was leading by a wide margin.

As at 6:40 A.M, when the state returning officer paused the collation to attend to questions raised at the centre, the APC candidate was already leading with about four hundred and thirty, two hundred and eighteen votes (430,218), ahead of the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and Labour Party (LP), Senator Athan Achonu.

Below is the sum of results from 20 LGAs and the total votes earned by the three major parties in the election.

APC: 430,218

LP: 45,020

PDP: 45,698
