The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to open collation centres in the three states where Off-cycle Governorship Elections were held on Saturday, 11th November, 2023.

The states are Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi.

According to INEC, the Collation Center in its State headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State will open by 9pm today while that of Imo State will open at 10 pm.

The official announcement for the Start of Collation for Kogi State is still being awaited at the time of filing this report.

Though the Kogi Collation Centre is ready to receive election results from the state’s 21 LGAs, but the exercise is likely to commence tomorrow (Sunday), an INEC official said.

INEC Suspends Election In Kogi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the ongoing election in some locations in Kogi State.

Naija News reports that the National Commissioner & Member Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, made this known in a statement on Saturday night.

The Electoral Commission referenced incidents of malpractices, particularly results sheets completed before voting.

Haruna said the election had been suspended in nine wards of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State and would not accept any results from the location, adding that incidents in other LGAs are being investigated.
