The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has insisted that he is happy with the performance of Kai Havertz who has suffered a series of criticisms since he joined the club.

Recall that Kai Havertz became an Arsenal player on July 1, 2023, after the Gunners paid their London rivals, Chelsea, a whopping £75 million during last summer’s transfer window.

Since then, the 24-year-old German attacking midfielder has played 18 games in all competitions scoring just one goal and providing an assist.

In the Premier League, the Germany international has managed to feature in all of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season but most Gunners’ supporters are not impressed with his performance so far.

However, coach Mikel Arteta has stressed that the German attacking midfielder has been doing good and also highlighted the games Kai Havertz has been superb, including Arsenal’s 2-0 Champions League win over Sevilla on Wednesday, November 8.

“I’m really happy with him. He’s doing very good”, coach Mikel Arteta said as quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

“For me, against West Ham in the first half he was the best player, Newcastle one of the best… and against Sevilla, we saw that again”.

Kai Havertz has until June 30, 2028, before his current contract with Arsenal expires. Since he made his international debut for Germany’s national team on September 9, 2018, he has scored 13 goals in 40 appearances.
