2023-2024 Carabao Cup Quarter-finals Draw: Arsenal, Man United Out

The 2023-2024 Carabao Cup quarter-finals draw is out as two Premier League heavyweights, Arsenal and Manchester United are out of the tournament.

Interestingly, Manchester United who won the Carabao Cup last season after beating Newcastle United in the final, couldn’t make it to the quarter-finals this season as they were eliminated by the same Newcastle in the round of 16.

The 3-0 win over Manchester United last night means that Newcastle United have eliminated two Premier League heavyweights in two successive rounds. Recall that they eliminated Manchester City in the third round.

The last season’s runner-up will now travel to Stamford Bridge on December 19, to take on struggling Chelsea who knocked out lower league club, Blackburn Rovers with a 2-0 win.

At the London Stadium, West Ham stunned their London rivals, Arsenal with a 3-1 defeat to move to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. The David Moyes boys will now take on another Premier League giant Liverpool on December 19.

Also, two Premier League clubs, Fulham who defeated Ipswich Town 1-3 in the round of 16 have been paired to take on Everton who defeated Burnley 3-0.

Two lower league clubs who are still surviving with the big boys, Port Vale and Middlesbrough have been paired to crash in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on December 19.

On Tuesday, Port Vale made history by winning 1-0 at League Two Mansfield Town to advance to the quarterfinals, while Middlesbrough came from behind to defeat Exeter City 3-2.
