'This May Be The Beginning Of The Political Death Of Governor Fubara, Wike Is Going To Hurt Him Bad' - Rufai

An old video of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, warning the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to avoid having issues with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, has emerged online.

Naija News reports that political crisis has been rocking Rivers State within the last 48 hours after arsonists set the Assembly Complex on fire over a plot to impeach Fubara.

The issue escalated after the Governor visited the House of Assembly on Monday morning as security operatives fired teargas and water cannons at him, including protesters at the venue.

There are reports alleging that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) plans to remove Fubara and install the speaker as the Governor of the state.

A video making the rounds online captured the moment Fayose advised Fubara to avoid having issues with Wike because of his personality.

According to Fayose, anyone who goes at loggerhead with Wike either surrenders or fights to the end.

Rivers Assembly Forwards Notice Of Impeachment To Fubara

Meanwhile, the Rivers State House of Assembly has forwarded a notice of impeachment proceeding against the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The House made the decision after an impeachment proceeding against the governor was held during an emergency sitting on Monday morning at the House auditorium.

Sylvanus Nwankwo from Omuma State Constituency presented the notice of impeachment against Governor Fubara, which was signed by 24 out of 34 members.

In the notice, the lawmakers accused the governor of acts of gross misconduct unbecoming of his office.

However, the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon. Martins Amaewhule, asked that the notice of impeachment be forwarded to the governor and allow the legal process to take its course.
