Last weekend, a couple of Nigerian footballers were in teams that suffered defeats across Europe and couldn’t do anything, but there were a couple of Nigerians who turned up for their respective teams.

Nigerian footballers like Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen and Victor Osimhen of Napoli who are usual suspects in terms of goalscoring were nowhere to be found for their respective teams last weekend.

Osimhen didn’t even make the cut due to fitness issues but his team managed to draw 2-2 with AC Milan in the Italian Serie A.

As for Boniface, he started the German Bundesliga game against SC Freiburg on Sunday but couldn’t do much but his team won 2-1.
