Adamu Garba Reacts As Supreme Court Affirms Tinubu’s Victory

Former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has reacted to the affirmation of the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Naija News reported that the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, against the election of President Bola Tinubu.

In a unanimous verdict delivered on Thursday, the court ruled that the appeal filed by Atiku lacked merit.

Reacting to the development in an X (formerly Twitter) post, Garba stated that the victory of President Tinubu at the apex court is a victory for the maturity of the nation’s democracy and all Nigerians.

Garba said he expected a statesmanship response from Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar to accept the Supreme Court judgement and offer their support to the Tinubu government.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain stated that now that the court cases are over, it’s now time for governance and nation-building and called on Nigerians to work together to uphold the sanctity, dignity and respect of the country and the Constitution.

He wrote: “President Tinubu won the primary election, won the General Election, won in the tribunal, won in the US courts, won in the Supreme Court of Nigeria. We should not forget that his victory is the victory for the maturity of our democracy and all Nigerians. Ladies and Gentlemen of the opposition, it’s now time for governance.

“Let’s join hands together to uphold the sanctity, dignity and respect of our country and our constitution. Let’s support Tinubu’s Presidency. It is God’s will.

“I expect a statesmanship response from the former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Candidate of the Labor Party, Mr Peter Obi and Former Vice President of Nigeria, the Waziri of Adamawa, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, to accept the outcome of the Supreme Court judgement and offer their support to the government and people of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
