Super Eagles' Chukwueze Picks Hamstring Injury, To Miss AC Milan Matches - Club Reports

Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, would miss a few matches with AC Milan after picking up a left hamstring injury while on duty with Nigeria.

The Italian football club revealed in a statement on Wednesday that the 24-year-old winger could miss a month of action.

“Samuel Chukwueze is already back at Milanello: the Nigerian suffered a left hamstring injury while away on international duty,” the Serie A leaders revealed on its official website.

Naija News understands that AC Milan did not indicate the length of time by which Chukwueze will be absent on the pitch, but the Italian press has suggested the player will be out for at least a month.

Recall that Chukwueze joined Milan this summer from Villarreal. The 24-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions this season.

Milan face third-placed Juventus on Sunday in a league match.

The player’s latest injury makes him the second Super Eagles star in treatment after his colleague, Victor Osimhen, sustained an injury on Monday while also representing his country.

Recall that the Napoli striker picked a knock during the Super Eagles tie against Saudi Arabia, and was forced to undergo an MRI scan.

Reports though claimed that Osimhen was not overly concerned about the injury he sustained during the Super Eagles’ match against Saudi Arabia.

The striker was said to have had a conversation with his Napoli medical doctor earlier ahead of the MRI scan, and he reportedly appeared relatively unfazed by the knock he sustained.
