People Are “Unnecessarily Giddy Over Nothing” - Bayo Onanuga Reacts After Maersk Denies $600m Investment In Nigeria

The former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bayo Onanuga, has reacted to his appointment as the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy.

Recall that the appointment was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngelale said the appointment was part of efforts to “prioritize effective and efficient working synergy between the Presidency and Federal Ministries”.

Reacting to the appointment in a post via his X handle, Onanuga appreciated President Tinubu for his confidence in him and also thanked Nigerians who had put him in their prayers and who believe the cap of the new job fits him.

He wrote: “I will henceforth serve as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s special adviser on information and strategy, with immediate effect. I thank Mr.  President for his confidence in me. I thank fellow  Nigerians who had put me in their prayers and who believe the cap of the new job fits me.

Naija News understands that the position was occupied by the former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dele Alake before he was appointed as the Minister of Solid Mineral Resources and Steel Development.
