Music executive, Abisoye Obayan has asserted that the contract between late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad and his former record label, Marlian Music, was a fair deal.

According to Obayan, he might not be able to say much about it, but judging by what he knows about the contract, it was a joint venture, which meant both Mohbad and the record label would bring to the table what they both have, but it only didn’t go down well with the late singer.

Naija News reports that it’s exactly a month since Mohbad died suddenly and mysteriously. Since his death, several controversies have trailed his sudden demise, with many blaming the President of the Marlian Music, Naira Marley and his ally, Sam Larry for bullying the late singer when he left the record label in 2022.

Speaking in a recent interview with Arise TV, Obayan said he has been privileged to see the contract, and he can only say it is a fair one.

He stated, “By right, I might not be able to speak about Mohbad’s contract with Marlian Music like that here. But because I’ve seen it before, I would say it was a fair one.

“In his defence, me and him always talk about that contract. That contract was a joint venture. It means he comes to the table as whoever he is, and the label comes to the table, and they put two together, and they make something which is a beautiful arrangement, but somehow it didn’t just go the way he thought it would go. And like I said, I won’t be able to speak more on that.”
