Hamas Attack: UK, US, Germany, France, Italy Declare Support For Israel Against Palestine

Israel has received backing from leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy in the ongoing war between the country and Palestine.

Naija News reported earlier that a Palestinian Islamist group, Hamas, launched an offensive attack on Israel, resulting in provocative reprisal from the latter.

The event has, however, resulted in scores of casualties from both sides. In a press statement released on Tuesday, October 10, by the US White House, the Western world leaders condemned Hamas’ invasion and warned that no party should exploit the attacks in Israel to seek advantage.

The world leaders described the Palestine group as terrorists’, saying there is no justification for Hamas’s action. They openly support Israel to defend itself from the Hamas.

The statement reads: “President Macron of France, Chancellor Scholz of Germany Prime Minister Meloni of Italy, Prime Minister Sunak of the United Kingdom, and President Biden of the United States – express our steadfast and united support to the State of Israel And our unequivocal condemnation of Hamas and its appalling acts of terrorism.

“We make clear that the terrorist actions of Hamas have no justification, no legitimacy, and must be universally condemned. There is never any justification for terrorism. In recent days, the world has watched in horror as Hamas terrorists massacred families in their homes, slaughtered over 200 young people enjoying a music festival, and kidnapped elderly women, children, and entire families, who are now being held as hostages.

“Our countries will support Israel in its efforts to defend itself and its people against such atrocities. We further emphasize that this is not a moment for any party hostile to Israel to exploit these attacks to seek advantage.

“All of us recognize the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian People, and support equal measures of justice and freedom for Israelis and Palestinians alike. But make no mistake: Hamas does not represent those aspirations, and it offers nothing for the Palestinian people other than more terror and bloodshed.

“Over the coming days, we will remain united and coordinated, together as allies, and as common friends of Israel, to ensure Israel is able to defend itself, and to ultimately set the conditions for a peaceful and integrated Middle East region.”

Nine Americans Killed In Hamas-Israel War – State Dept Spokesman

Earlier, the spokesperson for the United States Department of State, Matthew Miller, claimed that at least nine Americans have been killed in the attack launched by Hamas terrorists on Israel.

The Majority Leader in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, in a statement released earlier, said four American citizens lost their lives in the assault on Sunday.

Schumer said, “Unfortunately, we know there are Americans who were killed. The Administration told us that they know of four thus far, but, sadly, we know the toll will rise.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday said the US is working overtime to verify reports of missing and dead Americans after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack against Israel.

Blinken, who spoke with CNN’s Dana Bash, said, “We have reports that several Americans were killed. We’re working overtime to verify that. At the same time, there are reports of missing Americans, and there again, we’re working to verify those reports.”

CNN, however, on Monday afternoon reported that the death toll has risen to nine, as Israel ordered a complete siege in Gaza.

Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer told Bash Sunday that Americans are among the scores of hostages being held in Gaza.

The US Embassy in Jerusalem, meanwhile, updated its contingency planning for any potential evacuation by land or air. The embassy on Saturday issued a shelter-in-place order for its personnel.
