The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa on Friday gave an update on the ongoing investigation into the death of 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Naija News had earlier reported that the state police command would update Nigerians on how far the investigation has gone.

The Commissioner of Police, during a press conference held on Friday at Command Headquarters in Ikeja, said the police had identified a total of 26 witnesses.

He also disclosed that five suspects have been interrogated.

Owohunwa, “So far 26 witnesses have been identified in the ongoing investigation of Mohbad.

“Five suspects have so far been interrogated in relation to the ongoing investigation.”

Owohunwa further stated that the nurse that treated the singer before his death is the principal suspect.

He said the auxiliary nurse was not qualified to administer injections on Mohbad, adding that the injections triggered other things leading to the singer’s death.

The Commissioner, however, said the result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased was still being awaited.

Naija News understands that the Lagos State Police Command is currently detaining popular singer, Naira Marley, Lagos socialite, Sam Larry and a childhood friend of Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy.

Mohbad: I Didn’t Receive Any Invitation From Police — Primeboy

Primeboy has refuted a claim by the Lagos Police Command that he failed to honour the invitation sent to him over the death of his friend, Mohbad.

Recall that Primeboy was declared wanted on Wednesday, and N1 million bounty was placed on him over his refusal to honour police invitation in connection with the death of the singer.

However, Primeboy turned himself in for investigation less than 24 hours after he was declared wanted by the police and was taken into police custody.

Speaking with TVC on Thursday, Primeboy denied the claim of receiving any invitation from the police, saying that there was no way he could have ignored the police invitation if he had received any.
