Nigerians on social media have reacted to the statement of the registrar of Chicago State University, Caleb Westberg in which, he denied the institution issued the certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by President Bola Tinubu when he filed his paperwork to lead Nigeria in June 2022.

Naija News reported that Caleb Westberg of Chicago State University during the deposition on Tuesday in Chicago, stated that the certificate, dated June 22, 1979, and submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022, was not issued by the university and its administrators could, therefore, not be able to authenticate its source.

Westberg , CSU’s registrar since November 2020, also said, during the deposition that lasted about 5.5 hours, that Tinubu did not apply for a replacement certificate, nor was he ever issued one.

The statement has elicited various reactions from Nigerians who vehemently condemned forgery, and called on the Supreme Court to disqualify the sitting president for submitting a degree from the prestigious University, that was not issued by the institution.

Reacting to the development, one X user, stardocofficial wrote: “See the questionable character many people supported to rule Nigeria !! Shame.”
