The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has met with the leadership of Jama’atul Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) over the death of its former leader, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu.

Recall that the renowned Islamic scholar died on Wednesday, September 6,2023, in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, after a brief illness.

In a post via his verified X handle on Monday, Kwankwaso said he paid a condolence visit to the JIBWIS leadership led by Sheik Abdullahi Bala-Lau alongside the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf.

The former Governor of Kano prayed to God to have mercy on the soul of late Argungun, who has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

He wrote: “Alongside the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, we paid a condolence visit to the JIBWIS leadership, this evening, over the recent demise of Sheikh Abubakar Giro Arugungu. May Allah have mercy on him.”
