Glasgow Rangers manager Michael Beale was unsatisfied with Nigerian forward, Cyriel Dessers and his teammates even though they recorded a league win last weekend.

Cyriel Dessers helped Rangers record a slim 1-0 win in the Scottish Premier League game against Motherwell, thanks to his first-half goal at Ibrox stadium.

That was Rangers’ fourth league win of the season after 6 games. They have also recorded two defeats which left them on the 3rd spot with 12 points.

During their Saturday’s game against Motherwell in front of their home fans, Rangers struggled to keep their early lead as they couldn’t extend it after over one hour of football.

Hence, in the post-game interview, Beale made it clear that he didn’t enjoy the slim win as he demanded more from his players and coaching crew.

“It was a good goal; it was something that we have worked on. The goal was really good play. If you play it back, the combination play between them was really good play so in that sense, in that moment, they have really shown what they are capable of,” Beale told Rangers TV.

“At the end of the game, the only thing you have as a coach and player is the next game, which is really huge. There is an opportunity for everyone, when you play you have to show the quality.

“I’m looking for more from this group of players and my staff as well. I don’t take one bit of comfort from this win. It wasn’t a game I enjoyed at all; I don’t think the players enjoyed it either. We have two more games this week and it’s down to me and the players to respond and show better than what we did in this game. it was nowhere near good enough.”

Cyriel Dessers, who has scored three goals for Rangers so far this season, is expected to be in action when Livingston visit Ibrox Stadium for the Quarter-final of the Scottish League Cup at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27.
