The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has appreciated the leaders of the party for their visit to his Abuja residence.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by photos, the NNPP National leader commended the party’s chairmen and the NEC members for their continued efforts in upholding the party’s principles.

Kwankwaso gave the commendation when he received the party’s state chairmen and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) at his Abuja residence on Tuesday.

He wrote: “Earlier today, I received all state party chairmen of our party, the NNPP, alongside other top officials of the party, on a homage at my residence in Abuja. I’m thankful for the visit. And I commend them for their continued efforts in upholding the party’s principles.”

Naija News reports that this comes after a group led by a founding party member, Boniface Aniebonam and the National Publicity Secretary, Agbo Major, suspended Kwankwaso at a Special General Assembly held in Lagos State on Tuesday.

The group alleged that material evidence in public showed that the former Kano State governor was involved in ‘’anti-party activities and was meeting with other presidential candidates.

However, the NNPP said the suspension of Kwankwaso is “null and void”, expelling several party chieftains, including Dr Boniface Aniebonam and Agbo Major, who spearheaded the suspension.
