'Ortom Will Will Prefer To Lose Ayu Than To Abandon Wike'

The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has applauded the inauguration of Nyesom Wike and Joseph Utsev as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu swore in Wike, Utsev and 43 others as ministers at a ceremony held at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers state was appointed as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) while Utsev, a former Benue Commissioner is now the Minister of Water Resources.

In a statement on Monday by his spokesman, Terver Akase, former Governor Ortom congratulated Wike and Utsev on their appointments, saying that both will bring their wealth of experiences to bear on their new roles.

Ortom also commended Tinubu for finding both politicians worthy to serve in his cabinet, describing them as round pegs in round holes needed for addressing challenges being faced by Nigerians.

He described Wike as a worthy ally who deepened the relationship between Rivers and his state, as well as stood by the Benue people in difficult times.

The former governor added that as a dogged, reliable, and seasoned administrator, Wike would bring the desired development to the FCT as minister.

He noted that Utsev who served under him as the Commissioner for Water Resources and Environment has the requisite experience and capacity to excel as the minister of water resources and sanitation.
