Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has lamented over the level of unrest in Niger State.

Naija News recalls that the Defence Headquarters, (DHQ) had disclosed that 36 officers were killed in Niger State.

It stated this while giving a breakdown of casualties in the ambush of troops in Niger State and an evacuation helicopter that crashed on August 14, 2023.

Insurgents had ambushed troops in the Zungeru area of the state, and some gallant troops of the Nigerian Army paid the supreme price.

Speaking via Twitter on Monday morning, Sani lamented that he just watched a video clip of dangerous weapons and missiles allegedly owned by terrorists in the state.

He wondered how the weapons were shipped into the country.

The former lawmaker insisted that the war against terrorism must remain the country’s top priority.

According to him, “I watched a video clip of dangerous weapons and missiles allegedly owned by terrorists in the vast hinterlands of Niger State. How those weapons got into our country is a question that need answers. The war against terrorism should be our topmost priority.”
