An aide to former Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has vowed to drag the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to court should he see Nigerian Music star, Afeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley or any artist on his record label, smoking in any of his music videos.

Naija News reported on Thursday that controversial Nigerian singer warned fans and Nigerian youths to shun drug abuse.

The singer paid a visit to the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) chairman, Buba Marwa, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja yesterday, August 17, where he declared his support for the fight against substance abuse.

Naira Marley, in a video shared by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, via Twitter, urged Nigerians to stop all substance abuse, stressing it poses a threat to health.

He stated that drug abuse pushes people to commit crimes, adding he has decided to join the NDLEA campaign to stop drugs on the streets.

In his words, “I want to urge my fans and all Nigerian youths to stop doing drugs because it’s not good for your well-being. Let us stop substance abuse in any form, I have keyed into the campaign to support NDLEA to stop drugs in the streets. It is really not good; it makes you go back into crime.”

The musician’s action has since stirred lots of controversy, as several people have queried if the musician had quit smoking.

In his reaction to the issue, Ifeanyi Okowa’s aide, Success, said he was happy about Naira Marley’s campaign against substance abuse.

Success, who took to Facebook, however, said he would not hesitate to sue NDLEA should he see the musician or any of his artists smoking in any of their music videos.

The former aide questioned if the musician had quit ‘smoking’ before being considered to make the declaration.

He stated, “I will sue NDLEA if I see Nairamarley sm*king on his music video or on ground and if any of artistes signed to his record label are seen smoking.

“I hope @officialnairam1 has stopped smoking before being paid by NDLEA to campaign against smoking and drugs.

“I am watching him carefully because I am happy with this campaign.”
