Controversial Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has warned fans and Nigerian youths to shun drug abuse.

Naija News reports that the singer paid a visit to the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) chairman, Buba Marwa, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja today, August 17, where he declared his support for the fight against substance abuse.

Naira Marley, in a video shared by the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, via Twitter, urged Nigerians to stop all substance abuse, stressing it poses a threat to health.

He stated that drug abuse pushes people to commit crimes, adding he has decided to join the NDLEA campaign to stop drugs on the streets.

In his words, “I want to urge my fans and all Nigerian youths to stop doing drugs because it’s not good for your well-being. Let us stop substance abuse in any form, I have keyed into the campaign to support NDLEA to stop drugs in the streets. It is really not good, it makes you go back into crime.”

Mohbad Tried To Commit Suicide

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has opened up on how his colleague, Mohbad tried to commit suicide because of the rift between him and his former record label, Marlian Music.

Naija News recalls that Mohbad had called out Naira Marley last year on social media for allegedly sending his boys to beat him up.

He left the record label shortly after the incident.

Speaking in a chat with Chude Jideonwo, Shmurda said Mohbad attempted to commit suicide during his ordeal but was prevented by friends.

He explained that it was Mohbad’s girlfriend who found him sitting at the window.
