Breaking: Campaign Council Speaks On Dino Melaye Withdrawing From Kogi Governorship Race

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ridiculed the  governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Dino Melaye, over the alleged defection of its members in Idah Local Government of Kogi State.

Naija News recalls that there were reports on Saturday, claiming that the ADC in Idah LGA collapsed its structure and defected to PDP for Melaye.

However, reacting on Sunday, the Kogi State chairman of ADC, Adaji John, said the PDP governorship candidate has been scammed by fraudsters.

He insisted that contrary to reports, the ADC chairman for Idah Council Area never visited Melaye and some fraudsters have succeeded in scamming him.

John alleged that certain individuals were trying to extort the PDP chieftain.

The statement reads: “In the said video, only Dino Melaye spoke to the imaginary ADC audience. No single face of the audience was shown, nor were the “ADC party materials’ the supposedly decampees brought made open.

“Of course, a discerning mind will know the story is not true. But we were not surprised that such falsehood was been peddled by the media handlers of the PDP governorship candidate.

“For a start, the name of the African Democratic Congress chairman for Idah Council Area is Adejo Ameadaji from Igalogba ward. Definitely, if it has been true that anybody visited or received Dino, it was to scam him, and they succeeded.

“This development is purely fake and a move to extort Dino. The face shown in the video is not an ADC party member, in fact, he is an Ibaji man to the best of our knowledge and not a member of our party.

“Those faceless persons led by the ghost Adejoh Haruna, whom the camera intentionally didn’t capture, must have played on the low intelligence of Melaye or paid him back in his own coins because it is in the public domain that Melaye is a scammer and mentor of scammers. This is purely a case of scamming the scammer.

“The press statement and the 40-second video have effectively proven that Melaye is a purveyor of falsehoods. And we are worried that Mr Melaye is already threading the path of APC and Yahaya Bello, who have been churning out media reports of receiving a series of fake decampees.

“Unlike the governor, who managed to back his kangaroo decamping stories with some pictures, Dino Melaye failed to show any—this is the new low of peddling fake news that the PDP candidate has been associated with for a long time, just to confuse the people of the state of their relevance.”
