Terrorists Invade Katsina Communities, Kidnap 14 Villagers

Terrorists have reportedly abducted at least fourteen people in a fresh attack in three different villages of Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Reports claimed that the assailants, at intervals, invaded Yakkaka in the Gazari ward, Yallagwada in the Maibakko ward and Maiturmi in Rafin-Iwa ward on Tuesday morning, killing one person in the process.

Naija News learnt that seven (7) persons were abducted at Yarkaka village, six (6) at Yallagwada village and another woman at Maiturmi village.

According to Channels Television, members of the Vigilante Group operating in the area were able to rescue the woman victim of Maiturmi village.

An eyewitness from the state command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria had told journalists that again, at about 1: 00 am yesterday, a similar attack was carried out by suspected terrorists in the neighbouring Dandume Local Government Area of the State where the hoodlums killed a son of the Tudun Ali ward head.

Confirming the incident, the state police command spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, told journalists on Wednesday that operatives are already on top of the situation with a view to rescuing the victims and arresting the terrorists.

“Yes, we have received the report, and we are making progress. We are making an effort in trying to fish out the criminal elements and take necessary actions”, Sadiq reportedly said.
