PDP Appoints Ajisafe Kamoru Toyese As National Vice Chairman (South West)

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated a former chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Kamarudeen Ajisafe, to replace the South West chairman of the party, the late Soji Adagunodo who died in May.

Naija News understands that the development was disclosed in a communique signed by the state PDP chairman, Mr. Sunday Bisi, on Wednesday.

In the communique, the party said Ajisafe was nominated after a stakeholder’s meeting held in Osogbo, the state capital.

The Osun PDP, however, noted that Ajisafe’s nomination was subject to the ratification of the party’s national leadership.

The party stakeholders also deliberated on the composition of the local government caretaker committee. They resolved that one person each should be nominated from the 332 wards in the state for consideration.

The communique stated “As directed by the national leadership of the party and in consultation with leaders of the party in the zone, the meeting nominated Barrister Ajisafe Kamarudeen to fill the vacant zonal southwest chairmanship position of the party, subject to final ratification by the national office of the party.

“The meeting also deliberated on the composition of the local government caretaker committee members in the state. Stakeholders of the party in all the 332 wards were therefore directed to present a nominee each for consideration for the caretaker committee to be constituted soonest.

“The stakeholders were given a week to submit the names of the nominees for onward presentation to and consideration of the leader of the party, who will then forward the nominees to the state Assembly.”
