Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to the decision of the Federation of Internationale Football Association (FIFA) to pay Super Falcons price money directly into their account.

Naija News recalls that FIFA had announced that Super Falcons prize money for participating in the 2023 Women’s World Cup would be paid directly into their account.

This was disclosed by FIFA Secretary-General, Fatma Samoura, to the Nigerian women’s team on Monday in their dressing room at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium following their 0-0 draw with the Republic of Ireland in their final group game of the World Cup.

It is because of you (the Super Falcons) that for the first time in the history of FIFA the Women’s World Cup prize money will be paid directly to you, the players,” Samoura said in a video posted by UK-based Nigerian journalist, Osasu Obayiuwana.

Reacting to the development, Charly Boy lamented that the football association took the decision because of the corruption in the country.

Speaking via Twitter, he wrote, “Kai, una don hear sey FIFA Secretary General tell Super Falcons sey der Prize Money dem go pay directly to the players.

“Dem no wan the money enter voice mail.

“Which kin see finish be dis? Falcons don learn many lessons.

“When Nigerians go knw sey Politicians no care about dem, sam.”
