Italian Serie A side, Juventus have reportedly told Premier League club, Chelsea, that they are willing to accept a swap deal involving Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic.

Chelsea have been pushing to sign a prolific striker who could be more effective than Lukaku who they bought from Inter Milan two seasons ago for a transfer fee worth €113 million.

Lukaku who first played for Chelsea between 2011 and 2014, struggled in his return to the club in 2021. He initially blamed his lack of form on the tactics of Chelsea’s former coach Thomas Tuchel who is now the head coach of Bayern Munich.

Amidst his struggles at Chelsea, he push for a return to Inter Milan ahead of the 2022-2023 season. He returned to the club on loan and the club tried to buy him back permanently this summer but the Italian side failed to pay Chelsea’s asking price which is around £40 million.

While the negotiations were ongoing, Lukaku began to negotiate with Juventus which frustrated Inter Milan to abandon the process.

As Juventus are pushing to sign Lukaku, Chelsea have shown a strong interest in Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic who is just 23 years old.

Last season, the Serbian striker played 42 times for Juventus in which he scored 14 goals and provided 4 assists.

Even though he is just 23 years old, he has already made 21 international appearances for Serbia in which he scored 13 goals since he made his international debut on October 11, 2020.

Due to his experience and his young age, Juventus do not want just to swap him with Lukaku, they want Chelsea to add €40 million to the transfer package.

As of the time of publishing this report, the two clubs have not reached an agreement and there are reports that Vlahovic is willing to make the move to the Premier League club this summer.
