Corp Member Dies Suddenly At Orientation Camp

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) identified as Bright has reportedly died at the orientation camp in Ede, Osun State.

A Facebook user Ekpueke Matthew broke the news on the social media platform. “RIP Corper Bright, who died during his orientation programme at Ede camp, Osun State,” Ekpueke wrote.

Bright’s colleague Lawrence Echezona gave more information in the comment section, noting that he died in his sleep and did not wake up in the morning during the call.

“It’s a pity for us that are in Ede camp. May your soul rest in peace, Bright. He slept the day before yesterday and couldn’t wake up in the morning,” he wrote.

Spokesperson of the NYSC in Osun Funmi Okundaye confirmed the incident to PUNCH on Monday.

“What you read is that a corps member passed on in his sleep? That was exactly what happened; there is no other thing to add. Nothing to add or remove from it,” Okundaye said.
