Tinubu Serving Us The Contrary - APC Supporter Laments Fuel Price Hike

A Kano State resident and a staunch supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Salihu, has lamented the current hardship in Nigeria following the hike in the price of petrol under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Naija News reports that the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel or petrol, went up on Tuesday morning from N537/litre to N617/litre.

Several Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) filling stations across the country adjusted their pump prices this morning to the new price while other stations shut down.

During a brief chat with Daily Trust shortly after the fuel price hike, Salihu expressed disappointment over current happenings in Nigeria. He said President Tinubu is serving Nigerians contrary to what they voted him for.

The Kano indigene said he and his family members voted for Tinubu in the last election. Salihu, who said he hails from Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, said he can’t continue suffering.

“Honestly, this new price has hit us very hard. This is not what we voted for. My children and I voted for the current government in power. What we are being served is contrary to what we asked for.

“I am a Nigerian; I deserve to be treated right. I am no longer a youth, I have Children, and they also go out and vote. Very soon, if there is no change, I will ask them to stop voting because they are no longer going to school and have started hawking and selling ‘Awara’.

“I dropped them out of school, and they are now selling ‘Awara’. How can they be denied education and start hawking? I have been in politics since the time of NRC and SDP. If things continue to go like this, we can retaliate our lawmakers and representatives will not do anything about it. We can take the law into our hands despite being law-abiding citizens.

“All these hardships we are facing is as a result of a hike in fuel prices, if not, we won’t be suffering like this. We don’t have good representation,” Salihu said.
