Th legal representative of Senator Iyiola Omisore, Kayode Ajulo has refuted rumors that the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resigned.

Ajulo dispelled these rumors during an interview with the newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

According to him, it would be unlikely for both the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Omisore to step down simultaneously.

He went on to label the circulating rumors about Omisore’s resignation as baseless and unfounded.

The former Osun senator is slated to attend the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting today, as per Ajulo.

Ajulo explained that if Omisore were to resign, it would be his personal decision, clarifying that there has been no coercion for his resignation as some suggest.

He said, “Why must he resign, he is the National Secretary of the winning party that has just ushered in the new government of President Bola Tinubu.

“He is proud of what the president is doing and the party enjoys the confidence of the president vice versa.”

Ajulo added, “What he is doing now is to stabilize the political space and ensure that those who worked for the emergence of President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian people are happy with the government.”

There has been speculation that Omisore has drafted a resignation letter in anticipation of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings of the party scheduled for July 17.
