Wissam Ben Yedder Is Being Investigated Over Rape Allegation

Monaco and French striker Wissam Ben Yedder is reportedly being investigated for alleged rape, according to reports in France.

A public prosecutor in the city of Nice in France told AFP that the rape incident involving Wissam Ben Yedder took place on Monday this week in the nearby town of Beausoleil on the Cote d’Azur.

According to public prosecutor Xavier Bonhomme, there are a total of two rape claims involving two targets and two victims one of the said targets is said to be the France international.

“We don’t know who the second person concerned is,” the prosecutor added.

According to the radio station France Info, two ladies, aged 19 and 20, claimed that Ben Yedder and his younger brother “forced them into sexual acts” after a night out.

Ben Yedder, 32, participated in Monaco’s preseason training sessions earlier this month, following the completion of his 19th and final appearance for France in June 2022.

Before this rape scandal, a Spanish court found Ben Yedder guilty of tax fraud in April; he received a six-month sentence with probation and a fine of 133,798 euros ($149,753).

On Wissam Ben Yedder’s recent rape scandal, his club, Monaco said in a statement on Thursday, July 13, “Monaco became aware of the information published today involving Wissam Ben Yedder.

“As the affair is subject to a judicial process the club is not in a position to make any comment.”
