Governance Has Collapsed In Imo State, Uzodinma Has Abandoned His Duties - Nwulu

The People Democratic Party has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State of recruiting non-state actors to take over the constitutional roles of the security agencies in the state.

According to the opposition party, the inability of the Imo governor to stem the rising insecurity in the state shows he is not fit to be re-elected.

The spokesman for the Imo PDP 2023 Gubernatorial campaign, Gozie Nwachukwu stated these during a press conference held in Owerri, the state capital on Tuesday.

He remarked that the alleged recruitment of non-state actors by the Uzodinma government may have contributed to the terrible security situation in the state.

Nwachukwu, who was flanked by the Director of New Media, Imo PDP 2023 gubernatorial campaign organization, Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, said the governor has been missing in action while insecurity remains a concern.

He further lamented the governor’s absence from the state for over 40 days since the swearing-in of President Bola Tinubu, saying that Uzodinma had relocated to Abuja and abandoned his constitutional responsibility of ensuring that the lives and property of Imo people are secured.

In the last seven days, parts of Imo state… bullets rained in Imo. We are seriously worried,” he said.

Nwachuwku, therefore, called on President Bola Tinubu to set up an independent investigation into the wanton killings in the state.

He said: “That’s why we are calling on the President and the Commander-in-Chief to please urgently set up an independent, discreet fact-finding team devoid of any contribution by Hope Uzodinma and his cohorts.”

He also extended heartfelt commiseration from the party’s Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, to those that have suffered irreparable and terrible losses as a result of the collapsed security architecture in the state.
