The Nigeria Police Force, Katsina State Command, said it recovered no fewer than 100 rustled cattle in Katsina communities in recent operations.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, explained in a statement made available to newsmen that one suspected terrorist was killed during the operation while two others were arrested.

The police mouthpiece disclosed that the suspects met their waterloo following receipt of a credible intelligence report about their activities and hideout.

The identities of the two suspected terrorists arrested are: Ahmadu Abubakar, 30, also known as “Mai Boza’ of Wagini village in Batsari LGA, and Abbas Lawai, 40, aka “Abbas Dogo” of Filin Polo quarters, Katsina LGA.

According to the statement, both suspects, who confessed to being under the camp of one Surajo, a suspected notorious bandit leader, also admitted that they participated in the attacks on Galadimawa, Karau-Karau, Rijana, Fan Turawa communities, all in Kaduna State and some parts of Niger State.

“At about 9:30 pm on the same day, following an intelligence report, over a hundred cattle were recovered after police operatives led by the DPO Danja LGA, repelled suspected terrorists armed with AK-47 rifles, who attacked a Fulani settlement at Unguwar Rogo and Rafin Gora in Danja LGA, Katsina,” ASP Sadiq revealed, noting that the body of the suspect, who was neutralised, was discovered in the course of scanning the scene.
