The Nigerian Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has revealed why security officers left microblogging platform, Twitter, during the just concluded elections.

Naija News reports that the Police boss made the disclosure while responding to a netizen who expressed surprise at how the security agents were missing during the election.

@husky10100 wrote: “I still can’t believe you and others went MIA during election period”

Responding, Adejobi said they engaged with Nigerians on other social media platforms, stressing they left Twitter due to the aggressive nature of people on the platform.

He said: “The best thing to do then was not to engage in any conversation on Twitter. We were active on other platforms, and u can cross-check. Twitter people were too aggressive, and bc it’s basically for a group of people who are (were) not pleased with the state. () ”
