Anambra Election: INEC Postpones Final Collation Of Election Results By One Hour

The collation of results for the governorship elections in Lagos and Ogun states is slated to commence on Sunday morning (today).

Naija News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed collation of the governorship election results in Lagos State to 11 am on Sunday due to the non-arrival of results from the local government areas (LGAs) on Saturday.

It was however gathered that the collation would hold at the Lagos Collation Centre within the INEC office.

It was also learnt that the commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ogun State, Niyi Ijalaye, also revealed that the collation of the governorship and house of assembly election results would be suspended till 9 am on Sunday.

He as well explained that the shift was due to the destruction of materials and attacks on officers of the commission.

Recall that some suspects were earlier arrested in the state in connection with an attempt to disrupt the electoral process.
