Benue Guber: INEC To Fix New Election Date In Kwande LGA

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said a new date would be fixed for the election in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue, Professor Samuel Egwu, said this on Sunday during the collation of results from the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

Egwu stated that the election in the Kwande was put off due to a printing error on ballot sheets.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, have won the two polling units in the Benue State Government House in Makurdi.

It is understood that the two polling units are the Arts theatre polling unit 011 and the Protocol polling unit 022.

For the Arts theatre polling unit 011, Alia of the APC polled 130 votes to defeat PDP’s candidate, Engr. Titus Uba who scored 43 votes.

At the Protocol polling unit 022, APC scored 36 votes while PDP scored 10 votes.

Earlier, Naija News reported that the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, and his wife, Eunice Ortom cast their votes on Saturday at their polling units.

The Governor and his wife voted at the Tse Ortom 016, at science Technical School, Gbajimba, Guma Local government Area.

Ortom commended the INEC for the process and hopes it’s replicated across the state.
