Despite the warning from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the use of phones would not be allowed in voting booths during elections, some voters have still flouted the order.

Naija News reports that a voter from Benue State took to the micro-blogging platform Twitter to post his ballot paper before casting his votes this morning.

The commission before the presidential and national assembly election warned that taking photographs with their mobile phones while casting their votes is a criminal offence.

However, it was gathered that the Twitter user identified as @SolomonJebu posted his ballot paper at about 9:00 am on Saturday saying “I’ve performed my civic responsibility.

“Benue must be great.”
