President Buhari Gives Nigerians In Diaspora Reasons To Support Tinubu’s Gov’t

Nigerians in the diaspora have been given reasons to support the incoming administration of the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has given Nigerians living in Doha, Qatar and the diaspora generally a reason why they should support the President-elect.

According to the president, supporting Tinubu’s government would mean a continuation for Nigeria to keep being the beacon of hope and prosperity in Africa and an example for other African countries to emulate.

Buhari’s stand was made known on Wednesday in a statement signed by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu.

Shehu submitted that the president made the appeal at a town hall meeting as part of his visit to the State of Qatar on Tuesday.

The president noted that “support the incoming government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu so that Nigeria will continue to be the beacon of hope and prosperity in our continent and an example for other African countries to emulate.”

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election last Wednesday.

His victory has however sparked a lot of controversies as other political parties have decided to take legal action to challenge his mandate in court.

They have alleged that there was widespread rigging in the election as several results were claimed to be changed by INEC officials.

However, while oppositions and others have described the 2023 presidential election as a rape of democracy, some chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC) have described it as the best election since 1999.
