The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has notified his supporters of his arrival at the Appeal Court in Abuja ahead of the court ruling on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) reconfiguration request.

Obi on Wednesday highlighted that he believes in due process, and expressed confidence in the ability of the Nigerian judiciary to deliver the due process.

Naija News recalls that Peter Obi had earlier filed a fresh application to physically inspect all the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) used for the February 25 presidential election.

Obi and LP brought their application on Monday by way of motion on notice, days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) urged the Court to allow its officials to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices ahead of the forthcoming March 11 governorship and state assembly elections.

Obi and LP, through their team of lawyers led by Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), said the essence of the application is to enable them to extract data embedded in the BVAS, “which represent the actual results from Polling Units”.

Ahead of the expected court ruling today, Obi had told his supporters not to turn the court premises into a protest ground but said he would be in court personally to observe the process.

Taking to his Twitter account in the afternoon, the LP presidential candidate gave an update in which he wrote: “I have arrived at the Appeal Court in Abuja. The place of the Nigerian Judiciary as a revered national institution remain important. We believe in due process. – PO.”
