INEC Declares Zamfara Senatorial, Reps Elections Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Zamfara state has declared the state’s central senatorial zone, Gusau/ Tsafe and Gummi/ Bukkuyum elections inconclusive.

In Zamfara central senatorial zone PDP’s Aliyu Ikra Bilbis is leading Kabiru Marafa.

Bilbis got 93,120 votes while Marafa scored 79,444 votes.

About 57,701 votes were cancelled in polling units in Gusau, Tsafe, Bungudu and Maru local government areas.

‘INEC Chairman Must Be Fired’ Protest Erupts In Abuja Over Elections

Residents in Abuja have taken to the streets to demand the sack of the Chairman of the of the Independent Electoral National Commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakubu over just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.

In a video seen on Tuesday making the rounds on social media, youths in their hundreds are seen with placard singing in chorus that the electoral body must use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to collate the election results.

According to the angry youths, the INEC chairman so far has failed to implement the law and must be fired.

The voice behind the video said, “INEC use the BVAS, the BVAS, our votes must count o, INEC chairman must be fired.”
