#NigeriaDecides: Minority Leader Of House Of Reps Loses To LP

The national house of representative minority leader, Ndudi Elumelu has lost his seat to a Labour Party candidate, Ngozi Okolie.

Elumelu is a member of the lower house and presently represents the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency.

Okoli, a candidate for the LP, was named the winner of the election on Monday by returning officer Prof. Kenneth Abaribe at the INEC Collation facility in the Oshimili South Local Government Area.

Ngozi Okolie of the LP received 53,879 votes in total to defeat PDP minority leader Elumelu by 33,456 votes.

“Having polled 53,879 votes to defeat candidate of the PDP who polled 33,456 votes as required by law, I hereby declare LP as the winner of the election for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency” the returning officer announced.
