#NigeriaDecides: Orji Kalu Presents ‘Proof’ That He Voted For APC, Not A Void Vote (Photo)
The Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu has reacted to trending reports that he made a void vote during Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.
As earlier reported by Naija News, Kalu who is the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Abia North, cast his vote at his polling unit in the state.
The APC chieftain cast his vote after waiting so long for the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to get to his polling unit.
However, shortly after casting his vote, images started trending on social media suggesting the former Abia Governor made a void/invalid vote as his fingerprint crossed into another ballot space.
Alleged void vote
Reacting to the trending photo, Kalu took to his Twitter handle to share a photo of himself holding his ballot paper and emphasized that he truly and correctly voted for the APC.
He further urged Nigerians to reject fake news.
Sharing the photo, he wrote: “This is my modest effort to discountenance the Void Vote Scandal trending online against me. I voted APC
@OfficialAPCNg and I am proud of my choice.
“Beware of Fake News!”
