The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), in Yobe State, has disclosed that no election will hold in eleven polling units across four local government areas.

Naija News learnt that the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi made this known at a recent stakeholders’ engagement in Damaturu.

According to him, the affected polling units are located in Bursari, Fika, Jakusko, and Yusufari local government areas.

He noted that the electoral umpire will not deploy any human or materials to those units due to zero registrants.

The Commission said the state has 2,823 polling units across the 17 local government areas adding a total of 1,445,000 voters were registered for this year’s elections.

The defectors were received yesterday in Potiskum town, the largest city in Yobe.

At the event, Governor Buni assured the new members of equal rights with existing members, stressing that APC believes in one united Nigeria.

On his part, the Zonal Vice Chairman of the party, Baba Usman Arlaji, congratulated the defectors and also assured to carry the new members along in all the party’s activities, while also calling on members of other political parties to join the ruling APC in order to move the state forward.
